Made in NEW ZEALAND from Potato starch with all ingredients food grade, including the colours. After use, they can be composted, collected with any food scraps, used for pig food or in a worm farm. Potatopak is more rigid than 'paper' plates; and is for serve and eat or buffet situations like bbq's, functions, parties, catering, and even weddings, always creating interest and a talking point' Convenience without guilt' saving on washing up, waste disposal and land fill costs and situations where hygiene is important. Potatopak trays are also used in hospitals as a disposable bedside table tray or for carrying instruments and medications.
Exceptional resistant to fats and oils make Potatopak ideal for antipasto, chips, fried food, pastries, pizza etc. Their insulation properties make for great ice cream bowls. They will soften however with wet food so not suitable for soup or takeaway wet foods.
Potatopak pioneered a new way of thinking about packaging, using the starch by-product from Potato processing to create an alternative product that doesn't end in landfill is hard to beat. At the end of its life Potatopak provides nutrients back to the soil. It can be frozen, micro waved for up to two minutes and heated in a conventional oven (being potato it will however burn if the oven is too hot).
Potatopak also specializes in custom industrial and commercial individual projects, for example a single serve animal feed bowl.
